If you have a child or teen who is struggling to remember some important fact or idea, you might be interested in the Mnemonic Monday Series I am starting today.
(Yes. I know that Mnemonic Monday is phonetically confusing and I do apologize for it.)
A mnemonic is a method for remembering something. It can come in many forms including chants, rhymes, songs, acronyms, and acrostics among other things.
While a mnemonic can’t improve comprehension, it CAN help the learner remember some of the information NEEDED to comprehend a topic or do a skill.
Mnemonics are very useful as memory aids for both children and adults alike and have been used since the 5th century B.C.
The Mnemonic Monday Series will have weekly posts that will appear here on Homeschool With Love every Monday. Each post will have one or more mnemonics centered on a particular topic. The topics are listed below. Links will be added to this list as the posts go live so you may want to pin or bookmark this page so you can find it again easily. I will be taking some Mondays off around Easter and Christmas so you won’t see posts at those times.
