Scavenger Hunt of God’s Love

Scavenger Hunt of God's Love
As I said in my recent post, Christian Valentine’s Day Crafts and Coloring Pages, Valentine’s Day can be about God’s love for us and how He wants us to love one another.

For that reason, I thought it would be nice to come up with a Valentine’s Day activity about love as it is discussed in the Bible.

Children usually enjoy scavenger hunts so I decided to make a Scavenger Hunt of God’s Love using scripture passages about love. Below you’ll find the instructions and the Bible quotes for this activity as well as a free printable that you can use. Enjoy!

Scavenger Hunt of God’s Love

Directions:

Write the Bible quotes below on paper hearts or use the free printable at the end of this post.

Optional: You may want to fold the paper hearts in half.

Hide the 18 hearts, then have the children look for them. When they find them all, have a discussion about what each quote says about God’s love and how we should love one another.

Bible Quotes:

Mark 12:30
And you shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind and with all your strength.

Mark 12:31
You shall love your neighbor as yourself.

Luke 6:35
But love your enemies, and do good, and lend, expecting nothing in return, and your reward will be great, and you will be sons of the Most High, for he is kind to the ungrateful and the evil.

Romans 12:9
Let love be genuine.

Romans 13:8
Owe no one anything, except to love each other, for the one who loves another has fulfilled the law.

1 Corinthians 13:13
So now faith, hope, and love abide, these three; but the greatest of these is love.

1 Peter 4:8
Above all, keep loving one another earnestly, since love covers a multitude of sins.

1 John 4:7
Beloved, let us love one another, for love is from God, and whoever loves has been born of God and knows God.

1 John 4:8
Anyone who does not love does not know God, because God is love.

1 John 4:18
There is no fear in love, but perfect love casts out fear.

1 John 4:19
We love because he first loved us.

Proverbs 10:12
Hatred stirs up strife,
but love covers all offenses.

1 John 3:16
By this we know love, that he laid down his life for us,

1 John 3:18
Little children, let us not love in word or talk but in deed and in truth.

John 3:16
For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life.

Romans 5:5
because God’s love has been poured into our hearts through the Holy Spirit who has been given to us.

Romans 5:8
but God shows his love for us in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.

John 15:13
Greater love has no one than this, that someone lay down his life for his friends.
