Berries - Plant Kingdom Mnemonics
The plant kingdom is full of interesting flora that can be tempting to taste and touch. But, as you well know, some plants are NOT safe for handling and it’s important to share this fact with your children.

I have some mnemonics for you today that you can use to teach your children what types of plants to avoid.

I hope they help keep your family safe.

Plant Kingdom Mnemonics

Here are some helpful mnemonics about plants.

Berries

Here’s an old saying that gives hints as to what types of berries are safe. Remind your kids, however, that they should never taste a berry if they don’t know what it is.

White and yellow, kill a fellow. Purple and blue, good for you. Red could be good, could be dead.

Poison Ivy

Here are two phrases that will help your family avoid poison ivy.

Leaves of three, let it be.

And…

Hairy vine, danger sign!

Know any other mnemonics about the plant kingdom? Feel free to share them in the comment section.

Many blessings,
Susan
