I have some bodies of water mnemonics that will help them out.
These mnemonics include acronyms and a fun phrase. They should give your kids the mental cues they need to remember these various bodies of water.

I’ll begin with the five Great Lakes.
There are two memory tricks you can use to remember these North American lakes. The first is this acronym:
HOMES
Huron
Ontario
Michigan

Superior
The second is this fun phrase:

Longest Rivers
Next, I have an acronym for memorizing the longest rivers in the world.

These letters stand for the following rivers:
