Dia de los Muertos Crafts

Dia de los Muertos Crafts
Do you celebrate Día de los Muertos in your casa?

Día de los Muertos (pronounced DEE-ah day lohs MWARE-tohs) is a Mexican holiday that is celebrated from October 31st through November 2nd. It translates to “Day of the Dead” and is similar to the American Memorial Day only it’s a bit more religious. It coincides with two Catholic holy days: All Saints Day (November 1st) and All Souls Day (November 2nd).

What follows are links to some Día de los Muertos crafts that you can do with your children. Many of these crafts use images of skulls and skeletons. They aren’t meant to be frightening. Instead, they symbolize death in a positive way. Mexicans believe that rather than mourning the death of a loved one on Día de los Muertos, you should celebrate that person’s memory and life.
