Land Geography Mnemonics

Hand holding globe - Land Geography Mnemonics
Today, I have geography mnemonics that will help your kids memorize bodies of land such as continents and countries.

These mnemonics use fun phrases with words that begin with the same letter as the items to be memorized.

I hope they help your children learn some key topics in geography.

Land Geography Mnemonics

Continents

The continents of the world are:

Europe, Asia, Africa, Australia, Antarctica, North America, and South America

A phrase that will help your child remember them is:

Eat An Apple As A Nighttime Snack

Central American Countries

The countries of Central America from north to south are:

Belize, Guatemala, El Salvador, Honduras, Nicaragua, Costa Rica, and Panama

A mnemonic for memorizing that is:

Big Gorillas Eat Hotdogs, Not Cold Pizza

Seven Hills of Rome

If ancient Rome is in your lesson plans, you might want your kids to know the Seven Hills of Rome. They are:

Capitoline, Quirinal, Viminal, Esquiline, Caelian, Aventine, and Palatine

Here’s a fun phrase that can help your kids remember those:

Can Queen Victoria Eat Cold Apple Pie?

Know anyone else who could use these geography mnemonics? Feel free to share this post with them.

Many blessings,
Susan
