Today, I have mnemonics for you for spelling words f – k.

(Actually, it’s for words f – i, but I didn’t want a gap in the lettering for the series. 😉 )

There are eight easily-misspelled words in this list starting with familiar and ending with island.

Here they are.




Mnemonics for Spelling Words F – K

Familiar
Say, that liar looks familiar.

Friend
A friend is always there to the end.

Generally
Generally speaking, a general is a good ally.

Hear
You hear with your ear.




Hypotenuse

HYPO
TEN
USE

Intelligent
In telling a gent about it, he showed he was intelligent.

Irritable
It would be very irritating if you forgot the second “r” in irritable, and don’t forget the “table” at the end.

Island
Remember that an island is land surrounded by water.
