It’s time for spelling mnemonics and today I have spelling words a – b to get you started.

There are memory tricks for 11 different words that start with “a” or “b” listed below (the exception being effect because it goes with affect). Some are acronyms and others are helpful phrases.

Mnemonics for Spelling Words A – B

Accommodate
Want to remember which letters are doubled in accomodate? Use this phrase:

This word can accommodate a double “c” and a double “m.”

Acquire
Don’t want forget the “c” in acquire? Remember this phrase:

I “c” that you want to acquire it.

Affect/effect
Use the acronym RAVEN to remember the difference between affect and effect.
