Water is the topic for the week’s Picture Writing Prompts. I think these prompts will get your writers thinking about this substance in many interesting ways.
1. The Splash
One spring day, you decide to visit your favorite lake. All of the ice has just melted off of it and you want to skip stones across the water. You amble on over and pick out a smooth stone. When it makes a splash on the surface of the lake, something unusual happens. Finish this story.
2. You are Water
Imagine that you are a drop of water in the ocean. Describe what it is like to ride the waves, see the aquatic life, and feel the plant life. Use your senses to elaborate.
3. How Do You Use It?
Water is more valuable than you realize. List all the ways that you can think of that you use water.
4. Make It Yours
Come up with your own piece of writing for this picture.
