Silly Monster Writing Prompts

Silly Monster Writing Prompts
Oogedy-boogedy-boo!

Do your kids like monsters or are they afraid of them?

Monsters don’t have to be scary things to be feared. They can also be goofy creatures that we can laugh at. Helping kids see monsters as silly, harmless, fictional creatures can eliminate any fears they might have about them.

I have some silly monster writing prompts for you today that can help your kids imagine monsters as funny, harmless, imaginative creatures. Encourage your kids to be as crazy and outrageous as they like with these writing prompts. Doing so will put their minds at ease about those ugly imaginative beasts known as monsters.

Silly Monster Writing Prompts

  1. Write a silly story about a monster who can’t stop eating apples.
  2. Pretend you have a pet monster who sneezes all the time. Write a story about it.
  3. Imagine a really goofy-looking monster. Write a paragraph describing this monster.
  4. Write a silly rhyme or poem about a monster.
  5. Write a funny story about three clumsy monsters. What kinds of trouble do they get into because of their clumsiness?
