Holy Week begins this weekend. It is the beginning of the end of Lent. Our time of fasting is nearly over. Pretty soon we’ll be able to celebrate the Resurrection of Our Lord Jesus Christ with an Easter feast both physical and spiritual.
Holy Week is a good time for spiritual reflection. It’s an opportunity to take a week off from the busyness of our lives to contemplate the events leading up to the Resurrection. It’s a chance to take our own unique spiritual path towards the risen Christ.
Over the centuries, there have been many classic poems written by Christians that can help guide us on our spiritual journeys. Some of these are little-known works, but that doesn’t make them any less inspirational. These religious pieces still serve as a helpful road maps for our trip to heaven.
Beginning tomorrow, I’m going to share some of these vintage poems with you. There will be one posted for each day of Holy Week. Since I don’t blog on Sundays, (it’s a day of rest ๐ ) the poem for Palm Sunday will go up tomorrow. The rest will go up next week. As each poem is posted, I will add a link below so that you can find it easily.
I hope you have a wonderful week. ๐
