“Little chicks, come, gather near,
A wondrous story you will hear.”

This delightful tale is not only the Nativity story, but also a counting book for your children to enjoy. It includes numbers one through twelve, just right for beginning counters.
This Little Golden Book is further enhanced by a simple rhyme scheme that children will find appealing…rhyming couplets. You can see it in the opening quote.
I liked the way the book tied some of the modern farm animals to the animals who lived at the time of Christ. It shows them as being the descendants of these beasts who lived in an earlier time.
One of my favorite parts in the book is the way the animals show reverence to the Christ child on Christmas Eve. I won’t tell you how, though. You’ll have to get this story to see for yourself. 😉
