They’re such a handy tool for keeping track of progress towards a goal, chores, accomplishments and more. I’ve seen them used for many specific purposes including music practice, exercise, reading, math facts mastery, pet care, potty training (Uh, that would be for the kids, not the pets), behavior, hygiene, chores (For the kids, not your spouse), schoolwork, prayers, memorization, and goal setting.
Another nice thing about them is that they are so inexpensive and easy to use. Just print one out and use a set of your favorite motivational stickers or reward stickers to fill in the boxes.
Incentive charts are a tangible way for children to see progress towards a goal or to be held accountable for their actions (or lack there of). They can be accompanied by a physical reward like an ice cream sundae or not, depending on the situation and your parenting philosophy.
If you’re looking for some printable incentive charts, I have a list of some websites that have these handy dandy motivational resources below. Check them out!
