He’s one of my favorite saints, mainly because he loved animals almost as much as I do.
I said almost.
On his feast day, some priests will bless your pets and farm friends if you bring them to church.
That can be an interesting experience.
Dogs and cats and chickens, oh my.
Anyway, back to St. Francis.
About 800 years ago, he wrote a beautiful canticle praising God in His creation.
Today’s freebie takes a passage from this lovely song and puts it into two decorative copywork pages, one in print and one in cursive.
These pages come from the Canticle of the Sun Copywork book which contains the complete text of this hymn of praise in eight different handwriting formats, four in manuscript and four in cursive.
Also included are black and white illustrations for your children to color, suggestions for fun copywork projects, a list of musical selections for children to enjoy while copying the text, and full-color illustrations of sacred artwork portraying St. Francis.
But no dogs, cats, or chickens.
Sorry.
