Circles. Squares. Triangles. Rectangles. Ovals. Stars.
Can your small fry identify these shapes?
Shape identification is another important concept that you’ll want to teach your preschooler for several reasons. For one thing, the world is made up of shapes (and colors). Shape recognition also leads to letter and number recognition because these characters are made up of shapes and lines. And knowing shapes is important for later math skills.
Fortunately there are plenty of picture books about shapes that you can share with your little one. What follows is a list of shapes books suitable for preschoolers. Hopefully you’ll find some blessings there that will help you teach your tot.
